There’s a whole host of great places to explore for your wedding beyond traditional wedding venues, from warehouses to galleries, music halls and exclusive historic home-stays. Later in the blog we have a couple of ideas for unusual wedding venues that may ignite your creativity. First here is our round up of just some of the amazing work that our talented team of stylists have been involved with.
Our talented stylist Bebe Joe worked at the incredible Porte Lympne Mansion Hotel. Voted Kent’s ‘something different’ Wedding Venue of the Year 2016, the four star Port Lympne Hotel, set at the heart of Port Lympne Reserve, offers couples a wonderful venue in a unique setting. Fully licensed for civil partnerships and renewal of vows, the Grade 2 listed mansion and landscaped gardens provide the perfect backdrop for the most special day, with glorious panoramic views across Kent’s largest wild animal park to the coast beyond. This is a truly amazing venue for your big day.
The beautiful bride here is Michelle and Bebe Joe created a wonderful look for her and her pretty bridesmaids.
Our skilled Sussex based stylist Elloise created these amazing hair and make up looks for a bevy of beautiful bridesmaids.
Carlos, our incredible London based stylist sent me some amazing photos of a wedding hair and make up trial.
Our skilful stylist Holly who is based in the South West has been really busy as usual. Here are just a few of the happy clients that she has worked with.
Here is the lovey Becky, Holly created hair and make up for her graduation ceremony. Congratulations Becky!
Lovely Lucy was luck enough to have Holly design the hair and make up artistry for her summer wedding. I love the sunflowers!
Out of the Ordinary Wedding Venues
Finding a good wedding venue is sometimes easier said than done. If you’re looking for something a little more unusual, something unique, something that reflects both of your personalities or interests (or burning passion for Star Wars maybe), this makes things even more tricky.Everybody seems to be having barn themed weddings this year…. or glamping. However help is at hand, I have compiled a few ideas …. a hand-picked selection of British wedding venues that bypass tradition in favour of a confetti-littered road less travelled.
A truly unusual venue presents itself at the Royal Navy Submarine Museum –the opportunity to get wed on the submarine HMS Alliance. The ceremony can be onboard or you and your guests can have a guided tour, while there’s room for a reception in the futuristic John Fieldhouse building with harbour views.
Film Studio Wedding
Make like a movie star and get hitched at these world-famous studios. As well as being a beautiful manor house in its own right, Heatherden Hall was the centrepiece around which Pinewood Studios was built and the house and surrounding gardens have featured in several films. The same company also looks after Shepperton Studios in Surrey. Where better for a Hollywood-themed or retro glamour wedding?
Tree House Weddings
Beaulieu Estate in Hampshire is home to two wonderful Treehouses which offer the unique fairytale setting : the larger of the two having a tower and a viewing platform at the top to look out over the treetops (a perfect photo opportunity) and a decking area with trees actually growing up through the floor! Treehouse One will accommodate up to 90 people sitting at tables or 120 buffet style. What better location for your special day than being nestled in the Trees with the dappled sunlight filtering through the leaf canopy of the private woods.
A unique venue for your special day – Nash Point Lighthouse in South Wales. One of the few operational lighthouses where you can get married.
Nash Point is a beautiful location for small, intimate ceremonies. Up to 25 guests can be accommodated over two floors of this spectacular lighthouse.
Not one for the claustrophobic but Wookey Hole Caves can accommodate intimate weddings and larger ceremonies of up to 100 people. The acoustics for live music are said to be amazing, and there’s a restaurant (above ground) for receptions too.
Hopefully these few ideas will help inspire the more creative and adventurous of you !
